Spectrum Search was founded by operators and recruiters who had spent careers inside digital assets and AI before they ever wrote a brief. The firm partners with companies and investors who want senior hires assessed on substance — not on category labels.
Why we built Spectrum
Most search firms treat digital assets and AI as adjacent verticals to a generalist tech practice. The partners running those practices have rarely sat inside a market-making desk, a protocol foundation or a model lab. The cost is felt at the shortlist stage, where candidates are assessed on surface signals rather than on the technical and commercial judgement that senior roles in these sectors actually require.
Spectrum operates from inside the work. Our networks are mapped at the level of named operators in named niches — not at the level of titles on a CV database. When a client engages us, the first conversation is about what good looks like in their specific corner of the market. The shortlist follows from there.
The partners
Craig has spent fourteen years building and placing senior teams at pace, with the last six focused on digital assets and AI — placing senior trading, engineering, compliance and executive talent across exchanges, OTC desks, custodians, protocol foundations and applied-AI businesses. He has built and led recruitment teams from a standing start through to scaled operations, and has guided the careers of more than two thousand senior operators across the cycle. He founded Spectrum to build the firm he had always wanted to work with: one where every brief is owned by a specialist who has done the work in the sector, and where they run the shortlist themselves.

Peter is a three-time tech founder and advisor at Outlier Ventures. He has scaled venture-backed businesses, raised significant institutional capital, and exited to strategic acquirers. Since 2022 he has worked with founding teams across applied AI, infrastructure and frontier compute. At Spectrum, Peter shapes the firm’s commercial strategy and works directly on senior briefs across both industries. He brings the founder’s view to every search: what the role actually requires once the offer is signed, and what makes a candidate credible to the board on day ninety.

The UK is well suited to the firm: a financial centre with a deep regulatory community for digital assets, and home to one of the strongest applied-AI ecosystems outside the US — spanning research labs, growth-stage operators and the investors backing them.
Our briefs are global. In any given quarter we are working across Europe, North America, the Gulf and Asia. Coverage is delivered through network depth, not footprint.
